"Is there some Camomile tea around the place, Galileo? Or maybe some
pepermint? On second thought, I'll have a mixture of both, if you can find
them. I'm on my way to pick up the last of the emergency supplies. Then
it's home to hide in the closet until Hurricane Frances has passed. Oh, you
found the tea! Thanks."

Diana takes a sip, carries her cup to a comfortable chair, and sinks into
it, trying to relax.

"Well, we won't be spending quite the whole weekend in the closet. Maybe we
won't need to hide in the closet at all, with a little luck -- well, with
considerable luck, actually. This storm is looking very, very bad."

Gemini shoves a box of Harvest bars toward Diana.

"So you have something fairly healthy to munch on. They're nice and
crunch/chewy, which I find soothing. They keep quite well, too. I hope
you don't need them."

Thanks, Gem...hope I don't need them, too, but glad to have them -- they're
yummy. If the power is out awhile, they'll come in handy. Latest reports
are somewhat less threatening for our area, but now the blasted thing is
just sitting there off the coast gathering strength. So, who knows. I'm
becoming more accommodated to the whole thing by the hour. By the time
things get bad, I may just think, "Oh, well."

Hi Diana - Very nice website! I'm an artist and my wife is a "Psy.D." -
we live out in the country in SW Missouri. Glad that Frances has
apparently become 'smaller' - now a category 2(?) - hang in there and
have good luck! I live in the Ozarks - which only has an occasional
tornado to worry about.

Hello, Wes. Glad you visited my site, and thanks for liking it! Hope
you'll continue visit the Amethyst as well, so that we can become
acquainted. Hard to tell what Frances is up to at the moment -- lingering
over the water gathering strength, apparently -- but I'm less worried this
evening than I've been for the past couple of days. After a time the state
of alarm kind of wears off! We'll see what happens over the next couple of
days...

Hi Again Diana - Yes, I enjoy this group. I enjoy getting acquainted
with other interesting artistic folks - like yourself! I like to share
ideas this way. We artists being in our somewhat isolated industry so
much of our time - it's fun to discover other artists who enjoy
different reflections on this fascinating reality. This morning I've
heard that FRANCES and all its water and wind is going to hang around
for some time over Florida - and is now I beleive still a category 2. I
hope you and yours are not endangered in any way. Take care. - Wes/MO

Hi Dresden - A pink floyd quote? What do YOU mean Dresden? - WW
I am not getting the emphasis on your above statement.

If you are asking why did I choose a Pink Floyd quote for an
seemingly appropriate response, it's because I deemed that to fit
correctly to paraphrase your statement of "we artists". By your
statement you must fancy yourself an artist, but only by your hand as
I have yet to see evidence of your artistry. The correct saying per
the movie it was referenced from does in fact say 'fancy' instead of
'considers', but I defend poetic license to change said quote as my
want. It seemed apparent you do not 'fancy' yourself a poet, you
consider yourself an artist.
Please do not think I am chiding you because that would be a
false accusation. Rather show us your talent, your passion, your
work.

Reinforce your guise: write something.

Hi Dresden - I think I understand - you want to SEE something that I
have done 'since I call myself an artist.' OK - here's a handy one
circa 1976 - not too big for a quick download and viewing - and it's
copyrighted.

Oops - it wouldn't work - it says Amethyst 'doesn't allow' such binaries
(?) - Sorry. Now what? - WW

Hi Dresden -
Thanks for the helpful steps and suggestions for showing my art - but
it all seems way too complicated - even easier I think is this: just
'look me up' - maybe try 'Google'- enter my name in the "image' category
for your search - should be plenty of examples of my paintings and
posters out there. I'm planning an artwork website - but it's still
stuck in the process.
IMO - if some nice person posting here is only 'interested' in 'the
dialogue' about art or artists - and are not themselves a 'practicing
artist' - they still might share something 'interesting' - so I hope
they'll stick around.
After all it only takes one multi-millionaire to create a genuine art
movement. I would imagine few such culturally fascinating people are
'artists.'
I'm a 'real' artist - farmer and almost a carpenter too . . . .

So am I to take it that you are the mod-poster painter of the 60-70's
eras? If so, I heartily agree that you are an artist of utmost
calibre.

The term 'artist' has come to encompass many a genre of people. Who
says you have to work in any one specific medium? I myself, while I
don't claim to be an artist outright, have been known to write a thing
or two and I have sold a lot of stock photos.

Hi Dresden - Hey thanks for your kind words - AND - you having a 'green
thumb' at all is at least as good as you being a carpenter. <G> Nice to
meet you! - WW
